A Database Administrator is a professional that understands how a database runs and how to manage and maintain it in a proper way. Organizations and companies hire Database Administrators for designing, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting the database and supporting and supervising the database staff members known as data entry operators. A Database Administrator usually works for the general manager in a company and he is only answerable to the general manager only. He receives data from different departments in the company but first line and middle managers don’t have the authority to question his work or ask him about anything in particular related to the operations of a database.

Before a Database Administrator resigns from his job, he is required to inform the CEO or general manager of the company about his decision and give them a notice period from 1 week to 1 month depending on circumstances. During this period, the employer can find a substitute for the vacant position of Database Administrator and arrange for the final paycheck of the employee who will leave soon. Employers also use this notice period to hire an assessment team that evaluates and assesses the database and provides NOC to the database administrator. This NOC letter is attached with the resignation letter and received by the employer.

Dear (Recipient’s name),

I am sending you this letter to inform you that I have decided to resign from my job and pursue a career in another organization with better salary package.

It’s not like I am abandoning you but I have discussed my financial problems with the HR and asked them if there is any possibility of increasing my salary but it’s sad that there isn’t any. You can understand that I have a family to support and I have to think of them before anything else. This is the one and only reason I am leaving this job.

I have worked in this company on the position of database administrator for more than 3 years and during this time, I have made it sure that I fulfill your expectations and perform my responsibilities in the exact manner that you want me to. I was thinking of leaving last month but couldn’t because of the project that was ongoing at that time. Last week, I have completed that project and currently, there is nothing important going on that can’t be handled without me. So, as it turned out, this a very convenient time for both of us to let me go.

Consider this letter as my full and final resignation from my job and I hope you will accept it. I have given you my 1 week notice which is enough to find a substitute for my position. Kindly arrange for my final paycheck and signed experience letter before I leave on next Tuesday.

Yours faithful,
