Waitress Resignation Letter

A waitress is a female who works in diners, coffee shops and restaurants and waits on the customers. People come to eat in these places and as they sit on their table, waitress comes with menu and takes their orders and provides food to them. We can see waitresses in all kinds of eating places including breakfast clubs, lunch diners, clubs, pubs, coffee shops, fast food places and casual restaurants.

It’s not like an insult for the people who work as waitress but still this is a pretty simple and basic job and because of the minimum wages, not many people prefer to adopt this career on permanent basis but most of the time, the women who become waitresses, only do this job for temporary purposes. For example, a girl is studying in a college and as she has some hours left after college, she becomes a waitress so that she can earn money with flexible work hours. Many other jobs that pay on hourly basis are preferred by the women who want to work with flexible hours as they have another job or family to take care.

As said above, waitressing is usually a temporary work arrangement for most people so as soon they encounter a better job opportunity or wants to move to a better career, they resign from their job. Restaurant manager is the employer of waitresses as he hires and trains them. So, when a waitress wants to quit his job, she is required to inform the employer in formal written resignation letter with at least 2 week notice period. Usually people don’t do it but if a waitress wants or asked to, she can also include the reasons for leaving her job as a waitress. It depends on each situation that why a waitress wants to resign from her job but mostly it’s because of a better career opportunity and not being comfortable with the work arrangements i.e. work hours or hourly wage. If the employer can’t negotiate on the employment terms with the waitress, he asks her to resign from her job.
