IT Professional Resignation Letter

An IT or information technology professional is an experienced and skills person who understands how information technology works and how it can be used to maximize activities and performance of an organization. Companies and organizations hire IT professionals to evaluate their needs for new and advanced computer systems and networks in the company and to create harmony in the relationship of company’s policies and strategies and information technology.

Unlike any other employee in a company, IT professionals can’t just decide to leave their job and resign from their position but they have to wait for a better time when there is no important project is going on in the company and they have to evaluate that if they leave, company can continue its operations without any delay. General Manager is the employer of IT professionals and when they decide to resign, they are required to inform the general manager or office administrator before they can announce their resignation. Once the office manager evaluates that there is no way the company can keep the IT professional, he approves the resignation request and he asks the IT professional to resign with formal resignation letter.

Just like any other resignation letter, the IT professional is also required to give a certain time or notice period to the employer. In this notice period, the company can find a substitute for the vacant position and the employer can ask the IT professional to train the substitute if he is hired within the notice period. Duration of notice period depends on the type and size of the organization. Global organizations take more time to hire new employees so the resigning employee is asked to give more time in the notice period where smaller or domestic companies can hire new IT professional from within the company and it can be managed in a few days so the IT professional doesn’t need to give more than 1 week notice period.

Dear (Recipient’s name),

I have decided to resign from my position of IT professional at this company and thus, I am sending you my formal resignation letter with 1 month notice period.

I have worked at this company for more than 1 year and I am really disappointed to say this but I am not happy about spending 1 year here. I have tried my best to cope with my subordinates and senior staff members but I think I am not a good fit here.

I have complaint many times about the behavior of other people towards me and even if you have promised a lot to take notice of it, you did nothing and there was nothing left for me but to leave and search for a job in another company.

Whatever I went through during my 1 year at this company, I want to let you know that I appreciate everything you have done for me and I will never forget the experience that I gained while working under your supervision.

I hope you will accept my resignation and arrange for my last paycheck before I leave on 2nd of next month.

Yours faithful,
